Night Blur

The saying is that no good deed goes unpunished and this post may unintentionally prove the validity of that saying. This post imposes on followers of this blog the results of an experiment of mine. I decided to take a set of dusk/nighttime street shots intentionally ignoring the advice to keep camera steady, especially for night shots. Here’s a set of the three shots I thought would inflict maximum pain on my viewership 😉

  1. they give off a feel of true night, kind of dark, lots going on, not always totally clear, some of it under the radar. dizzy in a good sort of way.

  2. I’ve done many of these as low-light impressionist photos, gotten chastised for every single one by people who don’t get it (including more experienced photographers) and I keep on doing them, almost defiantly. They make sense to me. Sharpness has its place but blurr still has value.

    • “… and I keep on doing them, almost defiantly. They make sense to me.” Love this statement 🙂 I can understand where critics are coming from, sure, but it seems a bit narrow-minded. Thanks for your words, Allan!

What do you think? Tell me, pleeease ...
